ABOUT US
Pleasant Children’s Foundation (PCF) is a human rights and child aid organisation that seeks to improve the welfare of children. PCF currently targets the most vulnerable children in Western Area Rural - the most populated and disadvantaged community in the western area Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Sierra Leone is a post-conflict country which is struggling to emerge from shocks of one decade of civil war the world’s deadliest Ebola virus outbreak and recently a destructive mudslide which has left many children orphaned and challenged in socio-economic sphere. These shocks placed heavy burden to already weak economy and society which is unable to adequately meet the basic human rights of her citizens such as education and health.
In response to these challenges, Pleasant Children Foundation will focus on three major programmatic areas including; children’s education, youth and women empowerment underpinned by cross cutting issues such as child protection and sexual and gender based violence (SGBV) prevention for women that have been neglected by the society.
